Llama Beans is a collection of essays about our life in the country. It is a storytelling for those seeking a little light entertainment. You will not find anything too dramatic on these pages, but we hope to offer a glimpse, with humor and sometimes melancholy, of our life with llamas.
Having finally realized the dream of moving to the country, we have found ourselves transformed from city slickers to hayseeds in many ways. We live our lives in a strange middle-ground between the two different worlds of fast-paced high-tech and up-before-dawn country life. While our city friends pale at our 4 am rising time, our new-found farming neighbors with their cattle, hogs and corn still struggle to accept our llamas—providing no meat, hide, or other sustenance—as real livestock. We sit on this unique fence between worlds; and enjoy the best of both. We hope you find humor and entertainment in our stories, and share if you can our lifestyle, even if only on the electronic page.
